The Redlands Lion’s place the United States flag out on nine holidays or commemorative dates during the year. Every homeowner or business will select where the flag is placed on their property. An in-ground holder will be set or a flag holder on their fence will be positioned for the flag pole.
If you live in the Redlands area please contact us to see if your home is on our flag routes.

Notice to All Flag Subscribers on October 12, 2026:
The Redlands Lions apologize for not being able to place flags in front of your property on Columbus Day, October 12, 2026
According to the United States Federal Flag Code, Public Law 94-344: “The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all-weather flag is displayed.” Further guidelines from the Veterans Administration state “The flag should not be subject to weather damage, so it should not be displayed during rain, snow and windstorms unless it is an all-weather flag.
The Redlands Lions monitored 4 separate weather forecasts throughout Sunday before deciding to cancel the flag placement on Monday October 12.
In addition to being disrespectful to the flag should rain occur, we would end up with over 750 wet flags that would need to be dried and then rolled up prior to storage. The upcoming forecast for the week does not predict weather conducive for drying flags.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to placing flags on Veterans Day November 11.

President Redlands Lions
